2026 Conversion - Fulltime Raytheon Mechanical Engineer I - Onsite
RTX is a leading technology and defense company, and they are seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support the production of Shipboard Effectors products and subsystems. This role involves technical execution of tasks related to mechanical design, development, and production support, as well as contributing to inspections and investigations.

Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Engineer in an individual contributor role, responsibilities will include technical execution of tasks, recommending solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems related to the design, manufacture, integration, and production sustainment of various mechanical sub-systems both in the engineering lab and the factory floor both at Raytheon Technologies and at suppliers
Post critical design activities include contributing to first article inspections, work instruction reviews, material dispositions, and root cause investigations to production issues. Decisions are data driven and require preparing technical justification analysis reports and presenting to a variety of Engineering Review Boards
Other responsibilities to anticipate include a commitment to program schedule and budget, and 3D parametric modeling
Qualification
Required
Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
Experience with 3D CAD tools (modeling and drawing)
Experience with interpreting assembly and/or component drawings
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
Preferred
Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI Y14.5
Proficient in Creo (modeling and drawing) and Windchill (PDM)
Mechanical aptitude to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written
Ability to work in teams or independently, flexible, demonstrates initiative
