The role involves performing general accounts analysis, preparing financial reports, and supporting accounts payable and receivable activities.

Responsibilities
Assists the Controller with day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the Accounting/Finance Department
Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals, and prepaid expenses
Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance
Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from department
Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports, verifying information
Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, reconciling accounts
Assist with monthly and annual forecasting and budget to actual comparisons
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Supports accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation, entry and cash applications
Regularly maintains detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
Development of efficient business processes and month end closing procedures
Prepares documentation for external auditors
Performs monthly bank reconciliations
Performs Payroll processing and labor reconciliations
Performs all other duties as required, requested, or needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting
5-7+ years of experience managing transactional accounting tasks in a public or privately held organization
Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
Experience with journal entries, monthly and year end close
Must be proficient in Excel
This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization
Preferred
Previous experience completing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Strong analytical skills with particular attention to detail
Detail oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
Familiar working with manufacturing environment a plus
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to change
Ability to interact and communicate with multiple levels of the organization
Excellent teamwork skills
Highly organized with excellent recordkeeping
Comfortable managing a varied workload, with the ability to identify priority tasks
An elevated level of self-motivation and able to work on own initiative
