Responsibilities
Monitor SIEM and EDR platforms for anomalies; investigate and mitigate security breaches
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and coordinate with system owners for remediation
Help develop and enforce security policies in alignment with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC 2
Install and maintain security tools, including firewalls, data encryption programs, and intrusion detection systems
Develop Python or PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive security tasks and streamline incident response
Conduct security awareness training for employees to reduce risk from phishing and social engineering
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field
3–5 years of progressive experience in information security or network administration
Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Google Chronicle)
Experience with Cloud Security (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS) and firewalls
At least one active certification such as CompTIA Security+, GIAC (GSEC), or CCNA Security
Preferred
Advanced certifications: CISSP, CISM, or CEH
Experience with 'Purple Team' exercises or penetration testing tools like Metasploit
Understanding of industry-specific regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI DSS)
