Responsibilities

Provide support services to Administration and Operations
Extensive knowledge of CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10
Extensive experience with billing
Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing
Knowledge of medical documentation requirements for mental health
Experience working with medical records
Excellent organizational skills
Compliance with pertinent rules and regulations as they pertain to area of responsibility
Other related tasks as assigned
Comply with Alcohol & Drug Testing Policy (06-001-0010) and Background Check Policy (06-001-0015)
Maintain confidentiality

Required

High School Diploma or GED (general educational development certificate)
Valid Michigan Driver's license
Certification as a Certified Professional Biller (CPB) is required
Demonstration of ability to use Word, Excel and Access software programs
At least 3 years experience with reimbursement, billing requirements and insurance contracts
Experience with electronic health records, specifically billing claims, general coding and medical documentation
Must have access to transportation
Must be willing to attend out of county activities/meetings
Ability to exercise discretion and some flexibility in selecting an optimal solution from established alternatives to obtain the desired outcome
Ability to exercise ingenuity to adapt, alter or improvise established alternatives
Ability to use or exert influence in a work process
Ability to provide, exchange, or explain information which conveys an opinion or evaluation of the facts or analyses
Ability to deal with minor conflicts tactfully

Preferred

Associate's degree or relevant schooling
Medical Billing program participation
Certified Physician Practice Manager
Certified Professional Coder
Proficient in Agency operating systems and application software
Experience in the Public Mental Health Field or Related Field
Knowledge of Community Mental Health Treatment Programs and Relevant Policies
Lived experience with behavioral health issues
