Vice President of Business Development
VDB Executive Search, LLC is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to grow and scale Sea Tales’ commercial activities in the United States. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, developing key accounts, and strengthening distributor partnerships across the U.S. market.
Responsibilities
Drive revenue and margin growth in the U.S. by expanding existing accounts and acquiring new key accounts
Lead relationships with U.S. distributors and brokers, optimizing performance and market penetration
Own the commercial P&L for U.S. activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and distribution agreements
Represent Sea Tales in the U.S. market through customer visits, trade shows, and key industry events
Translate and execute the brand strategy locally in close cooperation with headquarters
Implement scalable sales processes and ensure reliable bottom-up forecasting
Act as the primary commercial and cultural interface between the U.S. market and the Dutch organization
Build and lead a small, high-performing U.S. commercial team as the business grows
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's or master's degree in business, commerce, or a similar discipline
A minimum of 8 years of experience in sales, business development, or commercial leadership roles
Proven experience scaling a market or region, preferably within the U.S
Experience working with major U.S. distributors
Strong commercial, entrepreneurial, and hands-on leadership style
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Culturally fluent in working across the U.S. and European (Dutch) organizations
Preferred
Prior experience in a start-up or scale-up environment is a plus
Background in FMCG, food & beverage, with strong knowledge of the U.S. natural market
