Responsibilities
As a Systems Engineer for the Space Force MUOS program, you’ll work as a member of a cross functional team responsible for defining, developing and sustaining enhancements to a live communication system
Develop and document system architectures, behavioral descriptions and interfaces using system interaction and flow diagramming tools such as Visio, Draw IO and MagicDraw
Define and review system requirements and requirement verification test plans using DOORS or DOORS Next Generation (DOORS NG)
Design, development, integration and test of ground communications and network management systems
Understanding of: Network Management areas such as Planning and Provisioning, Key Management, Fault Management and Security Management; Network Management applications areas including planning and provisioning, messaging and adapters, AAA and PKI; Satellite communication (SATCOM) principles and communication types; Industry standards and safety regulations for electronic equipment; Engineering tools and techniques to optimize system performance
Trade studies, determination of system Impacts and courses of action for system upgrades; Estimation of new or updated features and capabilities; System risk identification and mitigation
Ability to understand and review software (Java, PowerShell, bash)
Qualification
Required
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field
Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience
Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is preferred at time of hire
Candidates must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required

Experience with 3G/5G communication systems, core networking and model based systems engineering (MBSE)
Experience with Voice over IP (VoIP)
