Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight for the accounting team, including the Accounting Administrative Assistant and Staff Accountant
Manage monthly closing processes and prepare accurate financial reports
Ensure timely payment of accounts payable and collection of accounts receivable
Process payroll accurately and ensure compliance with payroll tax reporting
Serve as the onsite owner of ERP/financial reporting systems, ensuring data integrity and usability
Implement and maintain internal controls and financial reporting systems in accordance with GAAP
Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and accounting transaction controls
Issue timely and accurate financial statements and variance reports
Provide financial analysis and modeling to support business decisions
Drive process improvements and share best practices across the accounting team
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including 3 years in a management/supervisory role
Excellent organizational skills and financial capabilities commensurate with this position
Proficiency with computer applications, including Excel/MS Office, and MRP/ERP systems
A high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of results-oriented urgency
Strong leadership, team delegation of tasks, departmental planning, and decision-making skills
The ability to perform tasks accurately with keen attention to detail
The ability to work safely, especially while in our shop area
Preferred
An MBA and/or CPA
Experience in a manufacturing business environment
Previous experience with monthly closing/financial reporting
A thorough understanding of accounting for long-term contracts/percentage of completion methodology
A well-rounded understanding of the energy business
Experience in an ISO 9001 environment
