Responsibilities
Provides clinical and administrative direction to personnel and activities associated with providing quality patient care
Demonstrates interpersonal relationships in a manner which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolution and facilitates staff mentoring and development
Demonstrates managerial leadership and organizational abilities
Demonstrates competence in oral and/or written communication skills
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients serviced in the Oncology office
Reacts to crisis in a calm and professional manner
Thinks and plans in a critical fashion
Exercises sound judgment and discretion
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their age-specific needs and to provide the care needed by the pediatric through adult patient groups
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Management from an accredited college or university
Current and valid NYS nursing license
Current OCN certification or obtained within 12-months of hire
BLS certification required
Three (3) years of full-time nursing experience in an oncology support setting
Ability for complex decision making processes requiring independent judgment and critical thinking
Able to react and perform under stress and emergency situations
Good communication skills, both verbally and written
Demonstrate interpersonal relationships in a manner which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolution and facilitates staff mentoring and development
Demonstrate managerial leadership and organizational abilities
Ability to work in stressful conditions
Demonstrate competence in oral and/or written communication skills
Must be computer literate and know how to use hospital Information System
Ability to utilize electronic mail and Internet services
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients serviced in the Oncology office
Ability to react to crisis in a calm and professional manner
Ability to think and plan in a critical fashion
Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion
Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the Oncology office
