LHH is a growing small business in the western suburbs of Chicagoland seeking an Accounting & Business Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and partner with leadership. The role focuses on managing full-cycle accounting, improving financial processes, and providing insights for decision-making.

Responsibilities

Manage full‑cycle accounting for multiple entities, including AP/AR, reconciliations, month‑end close, and financial reporting in QuickBooks
Maintain accurate books, track expenses, support budgeting, and prepare financial summaries for internal stakeholders
Assist with forecasting, planning, and the development of financial insights for management decision‑making
Oversee vendor communication, invoicing, internal documentation, and general operational accounting processes
Collaborate with external bookkeeping, CPA, and advisory partners as needed
Create or refine systems and workflows that improve accounting accuracy, transparency, and efficiency
Provide actionable data, reporting, and metrics to support leadership and business goals
Special projects as needed

Qualification

Required

5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a small-business environment
Quickbooks experience
Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, period-end close, and financial statement preparation
Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
Familiarity with modern accounting software
Willingness to assist with additional office responsibilities when needed

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience with multi-entity accounting or commission-related reporting
Comfort supporting HR, benefits, or administrative processes
