EduTrend is a remote-first edtech startup building a behavioral tracking and analytics platform for students with special needs. They are seeking a QA intern to help ensure the platform is stable, testable, and classroom-ready across web and mobile. The role involves designing and executing test plans, writing and maintaining automated tests, and validating cross-platform behavior.

Responsibilities

Design and execute test plans for core user flows (onboarding, role-based access, behavior logging, dashboards)
Write and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) using Jest, Cypress, or Playwright
Validate cross-platform behavior across web + mobile (React Native / Expo)
Perform API testing for GraphQL endpoints (query/mutation validation, error handling, permission cases)
Perform accessibility testing (keyboard navigation, screen reader basics, focus order, interaction behavior)
Track bugs with clear reproduction steps, screenshots/videos, and expected vs actual behavior
Coordinate testing workflows across frontend/backend teams to prevent regressions
Help define release QA processes: smoke tests, regression suites, acceptance criteria, and pre-release checklists
Proactively identify stability issues before they escalate (edge cases, weak validation, inconsistent states)

Required

Hands-on experience with automated testing tools (Jest, Cypress, Playwright, etc.)
Experience testing cross-platform apps (web + mobile)
Experience with API testing (GraphQL + Postman or equivalent)
Familiarity with accessibility testing basics
Comfortable reading and testing TypeScript + React (and/or React Native) code
Strong attention to detail and ability to think in edge cases
Experience using Linear, Jira, or similar project tracking tools
Strong communication skills in a remote environment (clear written updates + bug reports)
Ability to coordinate and align workflows across teams when issues impact multiple areas
