Accounting & Financial Operations Manager

They are seeking an Accounting and Financial Operations Manager to lead and scale their accounting and financial operations, overseeing both strategic functions and day-to-day workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
Own the general ledger, monthly close process, and preparation of internal and external financial reports
Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP and support audit and tax processes
Build and document scalable accounting policies and procedures tailored to a fintech/lending environment
Prepare and deliver servicing reports for loan investors covering loan performance, delinquencies, and other key portfolio metrics
Own and oversee daily financial operations including funding of loans, capital allocation, and reconciliation of cash flows
Manage loan-level transaction flows, capital movements, and reconciliation across banking and servicing platforms
Maintain and improve processes related to warehouse lines, trust accounts, and loan purchase settlements
Track, forecast, and manage liquidity across operating, lending, and investor accounts
Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial operations
Partner with operations, capital markets, and product teams to ensure accurate accounting for lending activities, including interest, fees, and loan servicing
Evaluate and implement accounting systems and tools to streamline workflows and improve data accuracy
Develop dashboards and reports to monitor key financial metrics and inform decision-making
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to enhance automation of financial processes and align financial data architecture with business needs
Identify opportunities for automation across reporting, reconciliations, and treasury functions
Support the build-out of a robust finance tech stack that scales with business growth
Work closely with external partners (e.g., banks, auditors, servicers, investors) to support financial transparency and compliance
Support investor reporting, audits, and due diligence processes
Contribute to company-wide financial planning and analysis efforts
Qualification
Required
5+ years of accounting or finance operations experience, ideally with a mix of fintech and traditional financial services
Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal control frameworks
Experience managing accounting for financial products—ideally lending, credit cards, or securitized assets
Hands-on experience with loan funding, warehouse lines, custodial accounts, or investor settlements
Strong understanding of home lending products (preferably HELOCs), funding structures, and capital markets
High attention to detail and an ownership mindset
Strong analytical and Excel skills; familiarity with SQL or data tools is a plus
Experience working with accounting software and operational finance platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Trovata, Modern Treasury)
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
CPA required; experience at a high-growth startup or public accounting a plus
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
