Aerospace & Defense Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

Daily guidance to Engineers and Designers within the Product Design, Tooling Design, Automation and R&D/Special Projects Engineering teams. To use your in-depth knowledge of PWR products, processes and capabilities to offer guidance and direction in engineering, product, process and tooling design within PWR, and to co-ordinate and share learning with PWR global group engineering staff and management
Work with PWR’s HR department to support engineering career pathways focused on production design and engineering to provide learning across multiple disciplines of the business, and to develop new long term technical staff to grow PWR product and manufacturing capability
Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing and managing technical or engineering teams
Comprehensive understanding of heat transfer principles as applied to radiators, oil coolers, cold plates, and heat exchangers
Proficiency in engineering design processes, including material selection, component assemblies, and manufacturing methods for thermal management products
Ability to interpret and evaluate technical documentation, specifications, and engineering drawings
Highly organized and self-motivated, with strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed customer expectations in time-sensitive environments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
Experience working in both high-volume and low-volume manufacturing environments
Oversee and implement robust Design and Development processes to support all AS9100 requirements for PWR
Work with Production Engineering and Operational Excellence teams to deliver positive outcomes to improve quality and manufacturing process through tooling improvements, automation and AI integration

Required

Demonstrated communication skills, technical maturity, and flexibility to adjust to change
High level consultation and negotiation skills
Excellent communication and service skills to manage expectations of internal and external stakeholders
Advanced level computer skills including CAD
Ability to manage a highly dynamic team across multiple disciplines
Practical engineering knowledge of PWR products and process capabilities

Preferred

Mechanical or Mechatronics engineering qualifications are desired
