Jr. Grants Management Analyst

FWI (FedWriters, Inc.) is building a team to provide comprehensive grants management support services to the Federal Highway Administration. As a Junior Level Grants Management Analyst, you will support pre-award and post-award activities for competitive grants and cooperative agreements, gaining valuable experience in Federal grants management while contributing to the full lifecycle of grant administration.

Responsibilities

Assist with drafting and posting Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs) in grants.gov
Review grant applications for compliance, clarity, and completeness
Conduct budget analysis, risk assessments, and grant award compliance reviews in accordance with 2 CFR Part 200 and agency procedures
Prepare award documentation including grant awards, risk and budget memorandums for government review
Create and maintain records in government systems (PRISM, GrantSolutions, FMIS) and compliant electronic award files
Monitor grantee progress and performance; examine reports and provide recommendations
Analyze recipients' reimbursement requests for compliance with award terms and conditions
Draft amendments and supporting documentation; initiate and process grant closeouts
Analyze grants management policies, procedures, and regulations; provide technical assistance for compliance
Assist with creating SOPs, templates, presentations, reports, briefings, training materials, and procedural guidance
Maintain grants-related databases, workload trackers, and spreadsheets with accurate and timely information
Communicate with recipients, agency personnel, and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner; participate in meetings as required

Required

Bachelor's degree
Minimum 2 years of grants and/or acquisition experience
Knowledge of Federal Assistance practices and policies
Understanding of the full grant lifecycle
Knowledge of 2 CFR Part 200 Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards
Knowledge of concepts, principles, policies, procedures, and practices in grants management
Ability to provide technical advice and consultation in pre-award, post-award, and price/cost analysis
Proficient with Microsoft technology including Lists, SharePoint, Outlook, and shared network drives

Preferred

Direct experience supporting Federal agencies and Federal competitive grant programs
Knowledge and familiarity with ESC PRISM and GrantSolutions systems
Knowledge of and familiarity with Federal construction grant programs and infrastructure projects
Familiarity with Google Workspace products (DOT/FHWA is transitioning to Google by end of FY26)
