Administrative Specialist I - Johnston CI
The State of North Carolina is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives through the Department of Adult Correction. They are seeking an Administrative Specialist I to maintain records in the medical area, perform record audits, and provide public contact with clients.

Responsibilities
Maintain the records department
Release of medical information and performance of record audits
Document completion, verification, problem identification and resolution, statistical, financial, and/or other record keeping, public contact including receiving and providing information and problem-solving
Files maintenance and management
Composition, calculation, and determination of an action or compliance
Office equipment operation
Use of a variety of manual or automated office systems to establish, retrieve, verify, research, update and/or authorize processing actions
Independently perform a variety of tasks including some technical tasks in support of a work process or processes or a program requiring the selection of the most appropriate action from several alternatives
Function independently within established operating procedures and may provide input on matters requiring departure from established interpretation of office policies, procedures and operations
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Applicants must pass a background check to be eligible for this job

Documented supervisory skills
