Responsibilities

Lead and manage regulatory projects: Oversee complex and controversial permit applications, ensuring compliance with environmental laws and regulations
Conduct Team Leader Duties: Review regulatory documents drafted by colleagues, including general permits and jurisdictional determinations (among others) and approve certain decisions
Develop and implement strategies: Assist in the creation and execution of programmatic initiatives and improving permitting processes
Serve as a liaison with stakeholders: Foster strong relationships with regulatory agencies, tribal partners, local governments, and other stakeholders to support the successful delivery of regulatory projects
Provide leadership and mentorship: Develop and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities while fostering a collaborative work environment
Advise senior leadership on regulatory challenges and opportunities for improvement, offering strategic insights and contributing to the long-term vision of the program

Must be a citizen of the United States

This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time
This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position
The incumbent is required to file an OGE Form 450, Financial Disclosure Report upon entering on duty in this position and annually thereafter
This position requires that the incumbent possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License
Minimum qualifications by experience must include at least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in federal service which includes reviewing regulatory documents and processing permit applications for Acts such as Section 404 of the Clean Water Act and Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in geography; or related physical or social science such as geology, meteorology, economics, statistics, sociology, anthropology, political science, history, cartography, computer science, urban studies, or planning which includes at least 24 semester hours in geography or related fields
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering from an accredited program
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in physical science, engineering, or mathematics which included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science
