Responsibilities

Drives tractor trailers and/or other vehicles typically having a GVW of more than 32,000 pounds
Operates one or more electric, LPG, or diesel powered fork lift trucks to facilitate loading and unloading duties
Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment
Maintains records and documents actions, such as operator inspection checklists/forms and accident/incident reports
Performs operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires, cleaning and washing of vehicles, and performing inspection checklists to ensure safe and proper operation

An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position
Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth

Ability To Do the Work of a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR (FORKLIFT OPERATOR) without More than Normal Supervision
Knowledge of operating one or more gasoline, diesel, or electric powered wheeled vehicles with a GVW of over 32,000 pounds such as truck tractors with semi or full trailers, heavy load in-line trucks, or interstate motor coaches
Knowledge of cargo handling and hauling and techniques for safeguarding and protecting cargo
Knowledge of traffic and safety regulations, practices, and procedures pertaining to motor vehicle and fork lift operation
Knowledge of operating one or more electric, LPG, or diesel powered fork lifts
Ability to judge road/traffic conditions and read maps to determine the shortest and safest route, and meet pickup and delivery deadlines and schedules
Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. related to motor vehicle, fork lift, and power take-off unit operation and preventive maintenance
