DIGITAL CONTENT SPECIALIST - Bulletin #018-26 at Fontana Unified School District
Fontana Unified School District is seeking a Digital Content Specialist to create original multimedia content and manage social media platforms. The role involves coordinating content for district websites and ensuring effective communication tools for staff, parents, and students to enhance brand awareness and support student learning.
Responsibilities
Coordinate content planning, and development for district and school websites
Work cooperatively with school principals, department managers, and their designees to create practical websites collateral reflecting their needs and concerns
Create appropriate content elements for district web sites, links, and social media platforms
Coordinate regular content to be used for updates to the district home page, write original text and create original graphics for websites, and social media
Provide technical and design support for digital content creation
Research and recommend products and services to enhance the communications offered at the district and school site levels
Ensure consistency and uniformity in presentation of information on the website and social media platforms
Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
Generate, edit, publish and share relevant, high quality, and engaging content daily (e.g., original text, photos, videos and news)
Collaborate with other teams, such as marketing and community engagement, to ensure brand consistency
Support social media accounts’ design (e.g., Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout)
Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, such as promotions and competitions
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring all deadlines are met
Develop strategies that effectively reach target audiences through digital channels
Perform related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in multimedia, marketing, graphic design or related field
Three (3) years of work experience in developing and creating digital content
Experience in accessing and using resources on the Internet, including authoring web pages and using graphic layout software applications
Experience in the use and management of content creation tools and software
Knowledge of video production and editing; photography; digital media creation; e-marketing; design and development of graphics, multimedia presentations, marketing materials, e-newsletters and other digital publications
Hands on experience in content management
Professional quality video and photography production techniques and equipment
Principles of good web design, and basic publishing, copywriting and design principles
Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
Basic knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO)
Online marketing channels
Familiarity with web design
Basic public information and marketing principles
Current technologies and trends in multi-media and content creation tools and applications
Computer file optimization and compression techniques
Copyright laws, Americans with Disability Act, and other website/social media content legal considerations
Various computer applications including, but not limited to Adobe Creative Suites, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat Professional
Technical aspects in field of specialty
Modern office practices, procedures and equipment
Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary
Operation of a computer and assigned software
Oral and written communication skills
Ability to capture high-quality and professional images and videos
Creatively integrate concepts from singular or multiple sources into graphic design
Understand and assess emerging technologies
Manage multiple simultaneous projects from inception to completion
Think analytically to interpret data to inform goals and strategy
Multi-task and establish timelines and meet deadlines
Conduct research in order to keep technical and educational knowledge current
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
Operate a variety of office and production equipment including, but not limited to, a camera computer and assigned software
Work independently with little or no direction
Be detail-oriented, organized, accurate, thorough, and monitor work for quality
Utilize interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy
Make decisions based on sound judgment, honesty and integrity
Provide own transportation to sites during workday
Maintain insurability by District liability insurance carrier

Preferred
Working in a K-12 public agency setting in educational and experience producing digital assets
One (1) year of work experience in video production
Managing organizational change and initiating key innovations
Experience with HTML
Speak, read and write in Spanish to effectively communicate with limited English or non-English speaking members of the community in both oral and written form
Passage of the Bilingual Proficiency Skills Assessment (BPSA) or equivalent exam at basic level
