Traffic Engineering Leader

Lean HR Partners LLC is representing Lee Engineering LLC, an employee-owned firm and the nationwide industry leader in traffic engineering and transportation planning. Responsibilities

Builds strong relationships and interacts regularly with existing and new clients, teaming partners, industry groups, and stakeholders
Continue and strengthen client relationships within the Traffic/Transportation Industry, specific to both public and private sector clients
Identifies, pursues, and wins projects
Serves as lead engineer, approves, and signs off on work on local, state, and federal projects. Ensures that business is conducted in compliance with professional codes of ethics
Ensures that services provided meet the industry standard of care
Performs technical reviews of work developed by others and provides technical expertise for studies and/or design efforts
Continuously interacts with clients, assuring satisfaction with Lee Engineering services and interacting with project delivery personnel to ensure any service issues are identified and addressed in a proactive manner
Oversees Team’s project performance and is responsible for the performance of a portfolio of projects
Collaborates with peers/leaders throughout all Lee Engineering offices to leverage technical expertise, ensure client satisfaction, and implement best practices
Identify opportunities to expand existing practice areas or establish new practice areas
Participates in the development of technical proposals
Develops, mentors, and demonstrates leadership within the assigned office to professional staff to ensure growth within the firm
Responsible for annual performance reviews, staff recruitment/hiring, and disciplinary actions, including terminations, in conjunction with HR/Management. Engaged in active development of assigned staff in addition to monitoring utilization of staff members to optimize the opportunity for staff to reach utilization goals

Required

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
Minimum of 7+ years' experience, including project management
Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE)
Strong knowledge of traffic engineering principles, practices, and regulations, as well as best practices within the industry
Displays either a broad range of experience or is highly specialized within our practice areas, including traffic signal design, traffic impact studies, and transportation planning
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Preferred

Master's degree in civil engineering or a related field a plus
Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) or other certification a plus
Road Safety Professional (RSP) certification is a plus
Displays knowledge of traffic engineering software and tools, such as Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, VISSIM, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation
Technology competent. Proficiency in Excel and Word
Adaptable, flexible, results-driven
Understands market tendencies and industry standards
Leadership skills. Wants to lead a team
