Air Valve Project Engineer (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

Contribute to requirements management, design, and development of assigned components under guidance from senior team members
Collaborate with multifunctional teams to meet requirements, support risk mitigation, and help achieve project milestones
Assist in managing project resources to support timely completion of assigned tasks
Support interactions with suppliers to resolve producibility questions and concerns
Help generate and track hardware change requests with the IPD team, including minor upgrades, work transfers, and producibility improvements
Review customer requirements with guidance from the IPD team, ensuring clarity and alignment with project goals
Support Design, Structures, and Systems Engineering teams in addressing revisions, risks, and approved deviations
Assist in coordinating with design, drafting, structures, manufacturing, and quality teams to complete component designs and detailed drawings on schedule
Help ensure design releases meet lead times for part deliveries
Support Cost Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities for assigned components, assisting with budget tracking, earned value, and scope
Monitor project progress and report potential risks to schedule or budget to senior staff
Participate in evaluation and development of new technologies, collaborating with team members to advance Technology Readiness Levels (TRL)
Support timely hardware procurement and production processes, including assembly tooling and production definitions, to meet delivery milestones
Assist in component verification testing, including reviewing requirements, preparing test procedures, managing test fixtures, and collaborating with internal/external test facilities
Help review test data, verify acceptance criteria are met, and contribute to preparation of final test reports for customer submission
Communicate with team members and stakeholders to explain facts, procedures, and policies, providing recommendations for minor improvements within the work area
Review and complete Supplier Requests for Information (SRIs) from initiation to execution

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience

Preferred

Experience presenting project updates and technical information to leadership and stakeholders
Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and project financial tracking
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Experience with SAP and Teamcenter for project management and engineering data
Strong experience working directly with suppliers and customers, effectively managing relationships and expectations
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in a cross-functional team environment
