Accounting Manager
GeoStabilization International (GSI) is a leading firm specializing in geohazard mitigation and bridge rehabilitation. The Accounting Manager will oversee the integrity and scalability of the accounting function, ensuring accurate financials and disciplined controls while leading a team of accountants in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities
Own the general ledger and month-end close process, delivering accurate, timely financial statements
Lead balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure disciplined resolution of discrepancies
Manage annual audits and serve as the primary accounting point of contact with external auditors
Lead technical accounting research and application of GAAP to complex transactions
Design, implement, and continuously improve internal controls across core accounting processes
Ensure consistent accounting policies and practices across business units
Analyze project financial performance to identify accuracy issues, margin risk, upside opportunities, and cash flow implications
Partner with Finance leadership to support business unit performance reviews and decision-making
Act as a trusted thought partner to Operations and Project Management on financial outcomes—not just inputs
Coach, develop, and lead a team of accountants, setting high standards for accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
Build a culture of ownership, learning, and results orientation within the accounting team
Support the integration of newly acquired business units, including accounting processes, systems, and controls
Contribute to ad hoc accounting initiatives, system improvements, and cross-functional projects as needed
Support tax planning and compliance efforts in coordination with internal stakeholders and external advisors
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Demonstrated experience leading, managing, and developing accounting professionals
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data
Strong analytical judgment and problem-solving ability—comfortable investigating issues and driving them to resolution
Preferred
CPA license
Proven ownership of month-end close in a complex environment
Experience with Viewpoint Vista (or similar construction ERP)
Experience integrating newly acquired business units
Public accounting background with transition into industry
