Responsibilities
Gather, organize, and analyze and present financial and operational data from various internal systems and sources
Assist with billing processes, including analysis of billing trends, identification of exceptions, and preparation of related reports
Conduct client-by-client profitability and margin analysis to support strategic business decisions
Support annual and periodic budgeting activities, including data compilation, variance analysis, and presentation of findings
Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial reporting, dashboards, and summaries for management and leadership review
Provide operational support and financial information to attorneys and Partners on an as-needed basis to aid decision-making
Serve as a liaison between finance and other departments, facilitating data requests and ensuring timely, accurate delivery of information
Participate in ad hoc projects, special analyses, and process improvement initiatives that contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance team
Take initiative to learn new tools, systems, and processes to increase value and effectiveness in the role
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting or financial role
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) and familiarity with other financial software/systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
Highly motivated, coachable, and eager to learn, with the ability to work independently
Comfortable working in a role with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and gray areas, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred
Experience in a law firm environment is ideal; professional services industry experience is highly preferred but not required
