Responsibilities

Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing various network, computer and telecommunication devices and equipment for the employees of the City of Huntsville
Hardware and software setup and on-site maintenance of user workstations
Installation and configuration of network software
Maintenance and use of email service, Internet, and computer installations and configurations
On-call troubleshooting and on-site training of users

Qualification

Required

High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate issued by the appropriate state agency is required
Within the last six (6) years, the individual must have three (3) years' experience and knowledge of personal computers, software applications, hardware devices, the Internet, Email, and networking theories and practices
Must be able to obtain a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification within 11 months of start date and maintain CJIS certification thereafter
Must successfully complete a pre-employment supplemental application and polygraph examination
Must submit to a fingerprinting background check
Valid driver's license and good driving record

Preferred

Some college experience with a background in computer science is desired
Microsoft Certification is desired
