Firmwide accounting & close
Revenue, billing & collections
Partner, attorney & bonus compensation
Trust & client funds
Compliance, tax & audit
Budgeting, forecasting & reporting
Systems & process improvement
Prepare financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, etc.)
Reconcile balance-sheet accounts
Ensure accurate recording of revenue, expenses, accruals, and reserves
Oversee revenue recognition, WIP, AR, write-offs, and write-ups
Calculate partner draws, true-ups, distributions, and capital accounts / handle bonus calculations
Support year-end compensation modeling and planning
Oversee IOLTA and trust accounting in compliance with state bar rules
Coordinate with external CPA firms for filings and statements
Manage annual budgeting/rolling forecasts and prepare cash-flow projections
Support system upgrades and improve reporting processes
Qualification
Required
5-7 years of Controller/Sr. Accounting level experience within legal
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
Knowledge of WIP and AR accounting
Knowledge of trust accounting
Knowledge of partner capital and distributions
Knowledge of time & billing
Knowledge of monthly close
Preferred
CPA
Aderant or E3 experience
