Case Administrator/Courtroom Deputy
NEOGOV is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Case Administrator/Courtroom Deputy in Raleigh, NC. The role involves supporting the Court and managing case proceedings, ensuring cases proceed smoothly and efficiently while assisting other team members as needed.

Responsibilities
Opens and closes cases, prepares case-related correspondence and issues summonses
Reviews documents for completeness and conformity with the federal and local rules and the policies of this district
Photocopies and scans documents
Makes summary docket entries and performs quality assurance reviews in the Case Management/Electronic Filing System (CM/ECF)
Prepares and serves notices, orders, and judgments
Runs case management reports in CM/ECF to monitor deadlines and undertake appropriate action
Maintains the official court record and manages the progression of cases from case opening to final disposition
Processes appeals and appeal-related documents
Creates and distributes the judge's calendar
Responds to court procedures and case-related inquiries from attorneys, self-represented litigants, agencies, and the public
Assists the judge with courtroom proceedings which includes, but is not limited to, setting up of the courtroom, calling the calendar, administering the oath to witnesses and interpreters, managing exhibits, preparing minutes of the proceedings, preparing jury vouchers, collecting data, and preparing statistical reports
Supports other areas of the Clerk's Office and performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
At least two years of specialized work experience involving legal terminology
Demonstrated ability to apply a body of rules, regulations, directives, or laws
Knowledge of civil and/or criminal litigation
Knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil and/or Criminal Procedure
Knowledge of the Eastern District of North Carolina Local Rules of Practice and Procedure
Knowledge of CM/ECF
Ability to communicate information accurately, professionally, and in a timely manner
Positive attitude and service-oriented
Self-starter and extremely detail-oriented
Extraordinary organizational skills
Oral and written communication skills
Ability to enter a high volume of complex data into an automated case management system accurately
Ability to adhere to stringent deadlines
Ability to interact effectively with judges, attorneys, litigants, and court personnel
Ability to work calmly under pressure
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to adapt easily to change
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, and WordPerfect
Ability to work in additional Windows-based applications
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Preferred
Four-year degree from an accredited college or university
North Carolina State Bar Paralegal Certification
Extensive legal experience in another court or law office
