Responsibilities
Leads the installation, implementation, testing, modification, and utilization of software applications, including but not limited to practice management, scheduling, financial, laboratory, radiology, emergency department, and other electronic medical record applications
Provides initial and ongoing end-user training and education for all staff on the use of software applications, ensuring proper application use and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of workflow processes
Consults with staff to determine group and individual needs with applications, including but not limited to electronic medical record applications
Provides ongoing analysis, maintenance, and centralized functional support for software applications. Leads and guides others in identifying, assessing, and resolving system problems. Independently comes to conclusions and implements corrective actions
Conducts and coordinates with system users all software application upgrades with minimal system downtime. Coordinates error correction efforts to maintain the system after upgrade or implementation
In coordination with others, leads software application evaluation, selection, and implementation process by performing needs analysis, identifying vendors, participating in software demonstrations and evaluations, and coordinating implementation projects
Promotes the development of software applications, maximizing departmental and organizational efficiency
Evaluates workflow and recommends re-engineering of processes around utilization and effectiveness of computerized applications to maximize departmental and organizational efficiency and effectiveness
Works with St. Claire revenue-generating and revenue-collection departments to ensure that possible charge opportunities are captured and set up appropriately in the chargemaster
Qualification
Required
A minimum of twelve years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education
Ten years of experience in healthcare operations
Experience with EHR applications
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in area of position focus such as health information systems or pharmacy
EPIC experience
Cert Pharmacy Tech
