Freese and Nichols is looking for a Senior Traffic Engineer in the Greenville, Columbia, or Raleigh offices. As a Senior Traffic Engineer, you will lead traffic analyses and studies that support transportation planning and design projects across the Carolinas, working closely with transportation planners and engineers to deliver solutions that improve safety, operations, and mobility.

Responsibilities

Lead traffic impact studies, operational analyses, and corridor studies
Prepare traffic forecasts, modeling, and technical reports
Collaborate with transportation planners and design teams on integrated solutions
Support agency coordination and technical reviews
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior traffic engineers

Qualification

Civil Engineering degreeProfessional Engineer licenseTraffic engineering experienceDOT project experienceMultimodal studies background

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline
Professional Engineer (PE) license
6+ years of traffic engineering experience

Preferred

Experience supporting DOT or public-sector transportation projects
Background in multimodal or corridor-level studies
