2026 MoMA Summer Internship - Communications & Public Affairs

The Museum of Modern Art is offering a Summer Internship Program that provides practical experience in museum work for undergraduate and graduate students. Responsibilities

Support the Communications and Public Affairs team with press, publicity, and general-audience engagement for upcoming MoMA exhibitions and institutional initiatives
Press research and media list building
Tracking coverage and compiling reports
Assisting with press previews, interviews, and public-facing events
Support general-audience strategy by researching cultural trends
Tracking influencers and partners
Assisting with outreach to lifestyle and mainstream media
Contributing to post-campaign analysis
Gain hands-on experience in museum communications, media relations, and audience development
Assist with media research and outreach
Support events and public programs
Track coverage
Contribute to post-campaign analysis to evaluate engagement and impact

Required

Minimum of two years of college completed (or equivalent) by June 2026
Interest or experience in communications or public relations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects
Research and analytical abilities for tracking media coverage and audience trends
Familiarity with media outreach and press relations
Interest in arts, culture, and museum communications
Willingness to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
