Communications Specalist (Part-time, 20 hours)
Corps Team is a retail chain of home improvement and agriculture stores, seeking a Communications Specialist for a 2+ month contract position. The role focuses on developing and maintaining effective communication to all stores, creating user-friendly content, and collaborating with team members to enhance store operations execution.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for developing and maintaining an effective flow of communication to all stores. This includes but is not limited to researching, developing and implementing programs/communications that obtain and provide the information and directives necessary to operate the business
Research, create and distribute Business Planner Updates, District Manager Business Planner, Special Edition BPUs, communication around Circulars and any other communication needed for the field
Collect, review and format all communication going to the stores so that it maintains a consistent form
Produce innovative, user-friendly content for Team Members to improve overall Team Member experience and Store Operations execution. (i.e., Audio messages, videos, and audio presentations)
Collect feedback from the field and share with all levels of the organization around marketing events, circulars, product launches, etc
Conduit for all teams to research, create, and communicate to ad-hoc groups of stores through the use of The Hub
Research, communicate, log and follow up on all Stop Sale and Recall information to the Stores to ensure timely removal for the stores and protection for our customers
Attend meetings and collaborate with other Team members to assist with communication needs and to provide insight as a representative of the stores
Consult with Team Members at all levels of the organization on communication deadlines and follow up on requests for information
Creates and executes multi-media communication strategies around key company objectives, programs and rollouts
Act as gatekeeper and content owner for all content on the intranet (The Barn) so stores have access to current information
Create and coordinate all surveys to the stores
Work with the Workload Specialist to ensure Store workload is planned and allocated appropriately for needs of the business
Qualification
Required
3+ years of communications, management or store operations experience required
Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, Digital Media or related field. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered
Ability and proficiency in Microsoft Office required with intermediate to advance Adobe PDF and Excel skills required
Strong communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
Experience with modern digital communication methods and curiosity to explore and evolve them to serve the organization's needs
Display a detail-oriented approach to work
Capable of working in a cross-functional environment
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently, manage multiple responsibilities and possess the ability to work under stress to meet competing deadlines
