Human Resources Generalist
First Legal is a comprehensive File Thru Trial™ solutions firm with over 17 offices across the United States. The People Operations Generalist will manage day-to-day HR administration, respond to employee inquiries, and oversee the Hire and Termination lifecycle while ensuring compliance with employment regulations.
Responsibilities
Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, employee relations and escalate to People Operations Manager when necessary
Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications
Act as the bridge between Recruiting and Human Resources; walking new hires through onboarding
Oversee the Hire and Termination lifecycle in ADP Workforce Now and other systems
Full-cycle management of Leave of Absence and ADA accommodation requests for the office, track and communicate these to the greater team
Respond to inquiries from the Department of Labor regarding unemployment information
Run and analyze reports
Assist with employee engagement initiatives, participating in the planning and execution of events
Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment and necessary posters for the office
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
At least 3 years of human resource management experience preferred
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint)
Professional level writing and verbal communication skills
Well-developed interpersonal skills and professional demeanor, with an ability to interact with employees and others at any level within an organization
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Excellent attention to detail
Strong communicator, including solid telephone and writing skills
Excellent listening and follow-through skills
Preferred
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR Certified is a plus
