Responsibilities
The Research Programmer/Analyst designs, develops, evaluates and modifies computer programs and database applications to collect, manage, analyze and evaluate clinical and research data
Monitors data quality, recognizes inconsistencies and initiates resolution of data problems
Typically creates programs and databases using SAS and other software to support a wide variety of research projects
Implements data management plans designed to meet project and protocol deadlines, provides expertise in the design and development of research projects, clinical trials and systems
Acts as liaison between investigators and project teams on an as-needed basis
The Research Programmer Analyst Senior designs, develops, evaluates and modifies computer programs and database applications to collect, manage, analyze and evaluate clinical and research data
The position monitors data quality, recognizes inconsistencies, and initiates resolution of data problems
The Research Programmer Analyst Senior typically creates programs and databases to support a wide variety of research projects and implements data management plans designed to meet project and protocol deadlines
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer information systems, statistics, physics, or a related technical field, with formal coursework in programming
Understanding of one or more database systems and data warehousing platforms such as Oracle, SQL server, Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, etc., and working knowledge of MS Office tools. This requirement could be satisfied either by one year of experience, or the completion of at least one college-level course covering these areas

Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or Computer Information Science
Experience with SAS, SQL and/or other programming languages; health care background and experience in research. Medical terminology helpful
