Engineer Diver (Structural Focus) – Entry / Junior Level

Moffatt & Nichol is a leading U.S.-based global infrastructure advisor specializing in waterfront infrastructure projects. They are seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer with commercial diving certification to perform structural inspections and lead a team evaluating marine structures and ports.

Responsibilities

Performs site investigations of marine structures, bridges, and other infrastructure assets
Ensures that the scope of work is fulfilled as directed and that the contracted deliverable is submitted out on schedule and as budgeted
Data entry/manipulation and technical writing skills for the preparation and review of inspection reports, proposals, etc
Analyzes deteriorated components of marine and bridge structures to assess load capacity
Prepares plans, specifications, cost estimates and supporting documentation
Provides quality assurance reviews of inspection reports
Works collaboratively with all members of the inspection team and of other engineering disciplines
Assists with civil and structural design
Performs other duties as required

Required

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
Engineer in Training (EIT) required
Certified Commercial Diver is required; ADCI, HSE, DCBC, IMCA, ADAS or completion of a US military equivalent diving school required
Entry level to 4+ years of related diving and inspection experience required
Valid driver's license in good standing and personal transportation required
Availability and willingness to travel as required
Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
Selected candidate must consent to and pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug screening
All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Preferred

Structural coursework or focus is preferred
Boater Safety Card preferred
Possess DBIDS card or eligibility to successfully pass background check to secure Department of Defense DBIDS card and other badges required by clients preferred
Current First Aid, CPR, AED, and Oxygen Administration certification preferred
