Process Engineering Manager

Responsibilities
Performs duties in a safe manner; acts as a role model for Safety. Participates in and drives the safety program by reporting and addressing unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, and close calls; conducts safety observations
Drives change and process improvement projects/programs in the manufacturing operation. These changes can include, but are not limited to, processes, products, and/or information processes
Works within a matrixed team to drive change and results in the Plant and interacts closely with other plant functions (production, maintenance, shipping, scheduling, etc.)
Works cross functionally as necessary with R&D, Marketing, Sales and Supply Chain to make key process/product improvements
Develop and deliver training for Operators to ensure understanding of processes and to upgrade skills
Assist maintenance department in developing, evaluating, and editing preventative and predictive maintenance programs
Must be able to work on any shift and provide guidance on process issues to off shifts. May require employee to work a non-standard schedule
Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
Supervises employees in the Process Engineering Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Qualification
Required
Four year degree in a Technical (Science/Engineering preferred) or related discipline
3 to 5 years related experience in blown film extrusion processing
15+ years of experience in a production environment in blown films extrusion processing
Must be able to work on any shift and provide guidance on process issues to off shifts

Conducts safety observations
