Responsibilities

Lead large-scale IT modernization projects from initiation through delivery
Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and issues
Produce and maintain project documentation and SDLC artifacts
Provide weekly written and verbal status reports
Present updates to Executive Steering Committees and oversight bodies
Ensure compliance with HHSC standards and Texas Project Delivery Framework
Act as liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors
Escalate risks/issues and drive resolution
Support audits, reporting, and governance activities (QAT/MIRP exposure preferred)

Required

10+ years enterprise IT project management experience
8+ years State of Texas (or similar federal/state) project experience
Proven experience leading legacy system modernization projects
Strong knowledge of PMI / PMBOK frameworks
Experience managing executive-level stakeholders
Must be local to Austin, TX (within 50 miles)
Able to work onsite Mondays & Tuesdays

Preferred

Experience with Texas Project Delivery Framework
Knowledge of QAT / MIRP reporting
Experience with low-code / no-code platforms
Exposure to Texas statewide systems
