Manager, Loan Administration

The Manager of Loan Administration is responsible for transaction-level oversight, loss analysis, valuation monitoring, and risk identification across the reverse mortgage servicing portfolio, focusing on mitigating losses and improving recoveries.

Responsibilities
Manages transaction-level loss analysis reviews of HECM claims to identify losses, root causes, and recovery opportunities, including issuing Make Whole Requests (MWRs) to applicable vendors. Tracks and analyzes loss trends across the servicing portfolio while quantifying realized and projected financial impacts for senior leadership
Oversees transaction exception reviews triggered by exception logic within FAR Loan Management system, identifying potential incidents, aligning transaction codes with HERMIT and capturing borrower recoverability and HUD claimability
Develops and executes proactive loss mitigation analytics and governance, including forecasting future losses on high-risk loans, tracking potential incidents identified through transaction-level reviews, escalating exposure to executive management, and facilitating meetings to evaluate mitigation strategies
Monitors property valuations across the servicing portfolio, capturing appraisal and BPO exceptions that result in high-variance outcomes impacting loss severity, decisioning, and recoveries. Utilizes valuation benchmarks to monitor local market trends and track valuation factors for loss analysis. Reviews property valuation exceptions with a focus on property preservation and risk analysis
Develops key performance indicators (KPIs) in coordination with Business and Reporting teams to effectively monitor subservicer performance. Monitors monthly performance exception/issue reporting for the subservicer. Develops and fosters relationships with subservicer personnel and collaborates to ensure timely and thorough resolution plan status updates
Manages deliverables for internal business projects by providing timely and accurate updates to stakeholders to ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, monitored, and controlled
Remains abreast of industry trends, products, technologies, best practices, standards of conduct, ethics, competitive landscape, and legal and regulatory changes to recommend updates to strategic and operational plans for leadership decision-making
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5 years of experience in the mortgage servicing industry (e.g. default, foreclosure, bankruptcy, real estate owned REO, and/or vendor management.) Experience with reverse mortgages would be ideal
Minimum 2 years of experience leading program and change management, preferably with cross-functional teams
Experience with mortgage servicing (e.g. loan operational processes, credit bureau reporting, complaints management, cash management, investor reporting, default operations, etc.)
Experience complying with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) regulations, government sponsored enterprise (GSE) (i.e. Fannie-Mae, Freddic-Mac) agency guidelines, and Fair Housing Act (FHA)/US Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) requirements
Knowledge of management principles and techniques with business and leadership skills
Business acumen, leadership, and data-driven decision-making skills
Mathematical acumen to analyze complex equations
Interpersonal, oral, and written communication and presentation skills with tact and diplomacy
Analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a customer service orientation
Project management, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in MS Office Suite with advanced Excel skills
Bachelor's Degree or comparable qualifications
