Senior Compliance Representative Lead

California Franchise Tax Board is seeking dynamic, results-driven professionals to join their leadership team. The Senior Compliance Representative Lead serves as a technical authority and team leader, providing guidance and oversight to Field Collection staff on complex compliance matters.

Responsibilities

Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on Franchise Tax Board (FTB) policies, procedures, and enforcement practices, ensuring consistent and accurate application of tax laws
Lead and mentor a team of Field Compliance Representatives by providing technical direction, coaching, and performance feedback
Analyze, document, and resolve intricate compliance issues in alignment with departmental standards and regulatory requirements
Strategically assign and monitor workloads based on complexity, operational priorities, and staff capabilities
Review and evaluate staff work for accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to quality standards
Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports, management updates, and performance metrics
Facilitate training and development initiatives to enhance team expertise and operational efficiency
Act as a technical resource at public counters and assist with resolving complex taxpayer inquiries
Promote and uphold FTB’s Mission and Values in all interactions and decision-making processes

Preferred

Extensive knowledge of FTB systems, including Enterprise Tax Systems [ETS], Taxpayer Information [TI], Business Entities Tax System [BETS], Integrated Nonfiler Compliance [INC], Taxpayer Folder [TPF], and Case Management [CM] tools
Proven experience in workload management, staff development, and performance evaluation
Strong analytical skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and implement effective solutions
Expertise in Personal Income Tax (PIT) and Business Entity (BE) compliance, including technical application of tax laws
Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to delivering superior customer service and fostering collaborative team relationships
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
