Facilities Chief Engineer, Data Center Operations

Responsibilities
You will effectively manage the local facilities exempt and non exempt workforce
Forge collaborative relationships
Provide mentorship and training that is inspirational to the Data Center Facilities team
Translate analytical and trend data that will be shared with senior leadership for risk mitigation efforts
Present creative solutions ideas to increase the efficiency of campus operations
Collaborate with all departments within the data center to achieve operational efficiency to support the overall business objectives
Implement operational best practices to increase operational efficiencies, reduce operational expenditures, and promote a safety first culture for both internal and external employees
Provide on-call support and respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations and coordinate with other critical facilities professionals to perform corrective repairs while implementing incident reporting and root cause analysis
Ensure site integrity and system reliability through the enforcement of corporate standards, processes and fields, accountable to maintain a 24x7 data center support model
Provide guidance and set expectations based on organizational initiatives to the facilities technicians, supervisors and other facilities support personnel to implement site critical metrics and has the ability to produce and deliver weekly, monthly and quarterly presentations to the Chief Engineer on critical site metrics
Qualification
Required
Data Center leadership experience
Ability to work extended hours within a Data Center Environment and typically within a heat range of 60 degrees Fahrenheit upwards of 110 degrees Fahrenheit while following OSHA driven work rest cycles
Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred
5+ years of data center management and leadership experience
Experience managing hyper scale Data Centers with facilities infrastructure of size and complexity commensurate with Apple's Data Centers at a strategic level
Data Center and Systems Management experience with standard methodologies in the area of data center operations such as safety and compliance, infrastructure monitoring, Change Management processes, Business Continuity planning and execution, Disaster Recovery, and Conflict Management
Management of OpEx/CapEx budgets
Ability to work well under stress and handle difficult situations
Ability to make timely and effective decisions that are based on sound judgement, business rationale, mitigating cost and risk
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with team members and other departments
Excellent project management and project planning skills
Strong collaboration, organization skills, and professional attitude
