General Manager, Product Strategy & Development
Ultimate Staffing is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead on-site operations at their Bloomington facility. This role involves overseeing Operations and Engineering while driving product strategy, innovation, and ensuring cross-functional alignment.
Responsibilities
Lead executive planning meetings and consolidate insights from department leaders
Partner with senior leadership to establish long‑ and short‑term organizational goals
Champion major cross‑functional initiatives to ensure effective collaboration across departments
Manage product lifecycle strategy, including performance, profitability, and market relevance
Serve as the central point of contact for new product ideas from internal teams, customers, and inventors
Collaborate with external vendors to evaluate product opportunities aligned with brand and business objectives
Participate in product development steering committees with voting responsibilities
Direct and mentor leaders across Operations and Engineering
Hold regular stand‑up meetings and one‑on‑ones with direct reports
Approve departmental expenses, PTO, and oversee operational performance metrics
Ensure alignment with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best‑in‑class standards
Partner with department heads and the Controller on budgeting and capital investment planning
Collaborate with relevant leaders on pricing strategy and product positioning
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience, ideally within HVAC, manufacturing, or a similar environment
Proven track record in product development and successful product launches
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
Experience overseeing multiple departments or corporate‑level strategy initiatives
Strong communication, leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
Willingness to travel approximately 10%
Preferred
Executive‑level leadership experience
Master's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
HVAC/R industry background
Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean certifications, or similar process‑improvement training
