Maintenance Support Tech I or II (Administrative Support); Pharr District (Raymondville Maintenance)
The Texas Department of Transportation is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Support Tech I or II to join their team in Raymondville, TX. This administrative role provides essential support to the Maintenance Section Supervisor and plays a key part in ensuring smooth, day-to-day operations.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Answers the telephone, evaluates requests, answers questions, routes messages, and/or serves as receptionist or front desk assistant
Assists district personnel with annual inventory of supplies, stockpiles and minor equipment
Conducts monthly spot inventories, verifies inventory findings, reconciles and coordinates with Business Services on adjustments needed
Maintains and updates office files/records/logs and a wide variety of automated systems in support of personnel, finance, budgeting, maintenance, inventory, contracts, purchasing, travel information, and/or permitting activities
Maintains radio contact with field units; responds to assists with emergency situations as required
Prepares and distributes correspondence
Reviews and processes records of completed maintenance projects
Maintains calendars for department personnel to include scheduling meetings, coordinating and making appointments, and travel arrangements
Processes receipts and invoices for payment
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned
Composes and prepares correspondence and applicable recurring or special one-time reports and/or confidential and sensitive communications
Coordinates and tracks the progress of projects and/or specialized programs and informs supervisor or other Department officials of status
Maintains materials inventory
Qualification
Required
High School Grad or Equivalent in general education
Valid US driver's license
No Experience Required for Maintenance Support Tech I
1 YEAR in administrative or clerical support, customer service, or related experience for Maintenance Support Tech II
Office management practices and procedures
Automated record-keeping methods
Applicable computer systems and applications
Inventory/stock control procedures
Maintaining effective working relationships with others
Dealing courteously and effectively with the public
Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files, and reports
Using computers, applicable programs, applications, and systems
Follow verbal and written instructions
Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs. at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs. at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
Sitting prolonged periods of time
Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
