Responsibilities

Serve as the owner's representative for engineering for assigned facilities
Concurrently interface with design teams, maintenance, and operations
Support timely and collaborative construction execution
Prepare calculations, apply engineering methods, and apply technology aided engineering tools to facility and operations-based engineering challenges
Develop skills to independently run all engineering facets of a project from scoping to construction to sustainment
Foster relationships with project stakeholders and customers as a representative of Engineering Services

Required

Ability to prepare calculations, apply engineering methods, and apply technology aided engineering tools to facility and operations-based engineering challenges
Ability to support timely and collaborative construction execution. This includes timely review of submittals, requests for information (RFIs), design changes, non-conformance issues, validation of commissioning documentation and produce accurate as-built documents
Basic knowledge of engineering principles, codes, and standards
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university and 2 years of practical work experience necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above for Engineer 1
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university and a minimum of 3 years of practical work experience necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above for Engineer 2

Preferred

Electrical engineering degree and/or experience with facility electrical systems is strongly preferred
Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
Design or operations experience in nuclear, accelerator or industrial facility operations
Experienced in producing designs utilizing AutoCAD and/or Revit tools and work processes
Knowledge of DOE, LANL Engineering Standards, and Conduct of Engineering principles and procedures
Advanced engineering or technical degree is highly desired
