Project Architect (Architect II or III)

NAC is seeking a Project Architect who blends technical proficiency with a designer’s soul to contribute innovative design ideas and drive thoughtful solutions. This role involves producing high-quality drawings, collaborating with clients and consultants, and ensuring project outcomes reflect design excellence and technical precision.

Consulting

Responsibilities

Design Forward – Contribute innovative design ideas that reflect context, creativity, and client vision
Lead the Details – Independently produce high-quality drawings, specifications, and materials selections
Collaborate Creatively – Work alongside clients, consultants, and internal teams to ensure seamless, inspired outcomes
Problem Solve with Purpose – Apply your judgment to evaluate and implement architectural solutions for projects of medium to large complexity
Administer with Intent – Conduct construction site visits, review RFIs/submittals, and support project follow-through
Balance & Budget – Stay aligned with project schedules, budgets, and quality expectations
Support the Vision – Ensure documents and deliverables reflect both design excellence and technical precision
Licensed Architect who works independently and is responsible for finished plans, specifications and approval of materials and construction
Participates in the conceptual design and provides full support through the entire project
Coordinates on the planning and development of construction and design document production, and provide technical expertise to ensure coordinated and high-quality documents
Responsible to conduct construction administration duties, such as site visits, RFI responses, submittals, and punch list reviews
Liaises with Project Management, other architects, and consultants
Develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects
Involve explorations of subject area, definition of scope, selection of items for investigation and development of novel concepts and methods
Participates in preparing reports and specifications. Reviews completed reports, plans, estimates and calculations
Responsible to follow project budget, task schedule, and other components of the work plan with Project Manager
Responsible to monitor personal billing and works at maximizing team’s quality and efficiency in assigned tasks
Responsible to coordinate with clients, project team, consultants, and contractors to ensure trust and confidence
Provide leadership and oversight of a team of project architects, project associates and interns
Provide leadership for client meetings
Assists in analyses of design, design data, and planning as it relates to project scope
Contribute innovative design solutions that consistently capture the intended design vision
Contribute to bold design solutions that balance scale, aesthetics, and context to maximize the impact to the individual and community
May participate in marketing efforts and lead presentations to prospective clients

Required

Proficiency in Revit required
Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) proficiency required
SketchUp or Rhino required
Lumion, Enscape and V-Ray are a plus
Strong working knowledge of zoning and building codes, specifications, building/engineering systems, and agency requirements (NFPA, ADAAG, FGI, OBC, IBC etc)
Ability to generate and articulate impactful design ideas
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Organized and efficient with a focus on quality, timelines, and collaboration
Passion for providing exceptional client service

Preferred

Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture from an accredited university
