Payroll & Benefits Specialist
Everstand is an independent, not-for-profit organization that serves over 1,000 children annually across 12 locations. The Payroll & Benefits Specialist will support finance operations, manage payroll and healthcare benefits, and collaborate with the health insurance broker to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities

Accurately process payroll to ensure all employees are compensated on time and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Collaborate with HR and finance to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
Payroll Data Analysis: Analyze Payroll data and provide insights that drive operational improvement
Proper recording of Payroll Journal Entries in SAGE (Proper GL, Cost centers, and grants)
Administer and coordinate employee healthcare plans, including medical, dental, vision, and flexible spending accounts (FSA), ensuring accurate enrollment and addressing any benefit-related inquiries
Analysis of Healthcare plans & Reporting
Maintain strict compliance with Affordable Care Act (ACA) Requirements, including ensuring accurate and timely annual reporting through ADP
Work closely with Everstand's health insurance broker (PSA), addressing inquiries regarding benefit plans, eligibility, enrollment, and policies
Evaluate and implement recommendations or changes to health insurance plans that best meet the organization’s needs
Follow HIPAA, State Regulations and organizational policies regarding data handling and communication
Maintain Strict confidentiality in handling sensitive information
Ensure Timely, confidential, and professional communication with team members and supervisors
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Previous experience in payroll management, benefits administration, and financial reporting
Proficient in managing retirement plans 403(b), health insurance policies, and bonus tracking
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills for effectively working with team members and external partners
Experience using modern payroll and financial software systems
Experience with ADP & Sage is a plus
