Inside Sales Representative

Responsibilities

Answer inbound customer calls in a professional and timely manner
Make outbound sales calls to assigned customers to meet or exceed sales goals
Develop and grow sales within an assigned territory in collaboration with team members
Provide value-added solutions and upsell products to enhance account profitability
Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues efficiently
Travel as needed to meet with key customers face-to-face
Serve as the primary point of contact between sales channels, customers, and internal departments
Build and maintain strong relationships within the horticultural industry
Creatively problem-solve to meet customer and sales objectives
Accurately enter customer orders into MCS, maintaining less than 0.5% credits as a percentage of gross sales revenue monthly
Update and maintain customer and decision-maker information in the Goldmine/Client system
Submit territory activity reports as requested by management
Develop and report competitive intelligence, including market conditions, industry trends, account potential, and new product ideas
Support the development of sales strategies and marketing initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
Minimum of 6 months of experience in business, sales (telephone sales preferred), or customer service
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Experience with recordkeeping, database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics
Ability to compile data and develop marketing campaigns for electronic distribution
Strong time management, interpersonal, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and collaborative selling skills
Ability to multitask while meeting critical deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings
Basic understanding of design, composition, proofreading, and printing processes
Ability to accurately measure using a standard ruler
Ability to perform basic math calculations (discounts, percentages, commissions, weights, and measurements)
Ability to answer phones and provide accurate customer assistance
Must pass color vision and color hue testing
Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime as needed
Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university
