Responsibilities

Manage and maintain all hard services, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance and regulatory compliance
Assist in overseeing construction and renovation projects
Lead, supervise, and develop facilities staff, including assigning work, setting priorities, and conducting performance reviews
Coordinate and manage third-party contractors and service providers, including reviewing scopes of work, monitoring performance, and approving invoices
Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including those relevant to clinical or laboratory environments
Respond to and manage facility-related issues, emergencies, and after-hours calls as required
Develop, track, and manage maintenance budgets, capital projects, and improvement initiatives
Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and reports related to maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance with SOP’s
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, clinical teams, and leadership, to support facility needs and minimize disruptions
Support audits and inspections by regulatory bodies and internal quality teams
Partner with and support other lines of business

Required

Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred or equivalent working experience
Minimum of 5 years of facilities management or related technical experience
Minimum of 2 years in a management role with direct reports, including staff supervision and performance management
Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems is required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment

Preferred

Experience in a regulated facility environment; experience in a Phase 1 clinical research facility or similar healthcare/life sciences setting is preferred
Experience with procurement policies and supplier negotiations
