Responsibilities

Provides direct supervision to the Lead Teachers of:
Orange County Children’s Center
Ulster County Children’s Center
Dutchess County Children's Center
Indirectly oversees the Assistant Teachers, Substitutes and Interns/Volunteers of all Centers
Provide Leadership to the Ulster, Orange and Dutchess County Children’s Center teams, including hiring and onboarding of staff, setting performance expectations, and conducting performance reviews
Develop and implement program goals, policies, and procedures that align with agency, departmental, and contractual objectives
Provide education to staff regarding Agency and Courthouse policy and ensure staff are in adherence
Ensure all services are in compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and best practices, and that the team is providing services that are in the best interests of the children and families served
Provide childcare coverage as needed when there is Lead Teacher or Assistant Teacher absence in the Ulster, Orange and Dutchess County Children’s Centers, and assist Lead Teachers in coordinating coverage
Collaborate with community partners to provide a comprehensive array of resources to families and children utilizing any of the Centers, such as ensuring brochures and flyers of local services are up to date
Create monthly newsletters for the Centers to distribute to families that provide local resources and educational awareness
Ensure all Centers are offering caregivers client satisfaction surveys. Review, analyze, and utilize the data for quality improvement initiatives. Report out on survey data, as needed
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and ensure that all documentation for self and staff are completed within a timely manner and are in compliance with state and federal laws, regulations, and best practices
Assist the Director in administering required records, reports, and data management for programs and ensure that all certifications, reimbursement, and funding requirements are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner
Work with the Director to facilitate program development and new initiatives including grant writing related to assigned programs and agency initiatives
Assist in budget management in partnership with the Director and fiscal department. Participate actively in monthly budget meetings including being prepared to discuss program expenses and upcoming needs
Support the professional development of program staff and ensure that staff are appropriately trained to meet the agency requirements and funder expectations as well as ensure staff have the resources they need to be serve families
Meet with the Director on a regular basis to provide updates on the status of programs; to identify problems in staffing, services, funding, and community; to propose and implement solutions; and to recommend policy and program initiatives for implementation
Maintain quality assurance procedures, monitoring, reviewing internal documents and client case notes as well as evaluate the quality of services and programs through surveys and outcomes
Coordinator is expected to work in each of the three Children’s Centers a minimum of 1 day per week to facilitate staff training, ensure program quality and compliance with Center procedures, and build relationships with Courthouse partners. The Coordinator will have additional time in the Centers as needed, including but not limited to when the Coordinator is needed to provide childcare in the absence of a Lead or Assistant Teacher
Other duties as assigned
As a representative of the Agency, share our values, knowledge, and skills with other organizations, community groups, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders. Maintain good relationships with stakeholders and partners to advocate for children and families and those working in the field of human services
Organize, facilitate, prepare statistics for, and draft minutes of Advisory Committee meetings for each Center in order to share information and gather feedback related to service delivery and contractual obligation
Participate in program outreach to the community, provide presentations and share information on programs to the public and partners

Required

Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in the field of early childcare / childhood education, social work, human services, or related field with coursework in child development
At least three years of experience of working with children
At least one year of supervisory experience
Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and best practices related to childcare and child welfare
Possession of a reliable vehicle and valid NYS driver's license is a must
An associate's degree with 5 years of related experience may be considered if the candidate does not have a Bachelors degree
