Responsibilities

Develop and implement talent management strategies, initiatives, and programs that support the development and retention of high-performing, mission-driven employees
Create and maintain a comprehensive talent management framework including performance management, employee development, and career pathways
Design and implement contemporary performance management processes, including goal-setting, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms for all employee types
Lead the performance management process to ensure it reflects our culture, encourages meaningful conversations, and strengthens employee engagement
Drive the development and execution of employee training and development programs to enhance both the employees’ and managers’ skills, knowledge, and performance
Develop and implement employee engagement strategies that foster a positive and collaborative, mission-driven work environment enhancing employee satisfaction and retention
Oversee recognition and reward programs to celebrate employee achievements and milestones
Create thoughtful stay and exit interview practices that help us understand employee experiences, inform culture and engagement efforts, and guide improvements that support a healthy workplace culture
Create practical KPIs that help us understand how our culture and engagement efforts are impacting the organization. Track and report key program success metrics
Working with HR Leadership, develop ideas for the design of programs, projects, and processes across the employee lifecycle that position the Archdiocese of Chicago as an employer of choice
Own and facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding activities to support early employee engagement
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in talent management and make recommendations for continuous improvement to drive organizational performance, change, and transformation

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree and PHR/SPHR certification a plus
10+ years of hands-on talent management experience with proven track record of successfully developing and implementing talent management strategies and initiatives that align with organizational goals
Solid understanding of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations
Previous experience successfully working with senior leaders driving talent management initiatives
Proven ability to manage and lead change initiatives within a dynamic, matrixed environment
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across the archdiocese while effectively leading, partnering, motivating, training, coaching, and mentoring others consistently taking a collaborative approach, assuming positive intent, and inspiring others to achieve
Demonstrated experience in talent development and retention strategies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform talent management decisions
Strong time management, organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a highly matrixed environment while maintaining a positive and encouraging demeanor
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, drive results, act with a sense of urgency and responsiveness
Demonstrated effective presentation and communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication to different audiences and contexts, demonstrating diplomacy and tact in all situations
Proficient in using HRIS systems and talent management software
Passion for and commitment to the Archdiocese's mission and vision. Preference will be given to applicants that are Catholic
