Responsibilities
Prepare, submit, and track medical claims to commercial payers, Medicare, and Medicaid
Monitor claim status and proactively follow up on pending, denied, or underpaid claims
Investigate and resolve claim denials, rejections, and payment discrepancies
Ensure claims are submitted accurately and in a timely manner to minimize delays and denials
Review clinical notes and encounter documentation to ensure appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and modifier usage
Identify documentation gaps or coding issues and collaborate with providers or clinical teams to resolve them
Support accurate charge capture and compliance with payer and regulatory requirements
Stay current on billing and coding guidelines relevant to telehealth and endocrinology services
Generate and manage patient statements for copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and self-pay balances
Communicate with patients regarding billing questions, payment options, and account balances
Follow up on outstanding patient balances in a professional, patient-centered manner
Post payments, adjustments, and refunds accurately
Maintain accurate billing records and documentation for audits and payer reviews
Track key billing metrics such as claim turnaround time, denial rates, and outstanding A/R
Support continuous improvement of billing workflows, templates, and processes
Collaborate with operations, clinical, and enrollment teams to resolve billing and coverage issues
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle operations
Hands-on experience submitting and managing insurance claims for commercial payers, Medicare, and/or Medicaid
Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and modifier usage
Experience reviewing clinical documentation for coding accuracy and completeness
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Comfortable communicating with both insurance payers and patients
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities
Preferred
Experience billing for telehealth or virtual care services
Familiarity with endocrinology, primary care, or specialty medical billing
Certification such as CPC, CPB, or CCS
Experience working in a startup or high-growth healthcare environment
Proficiency with billing systems, clearinghouses, and EHR/EMR platforms
