Mechanical Plumbing Engineer/Designer (3-5 years)
Coffman Engineers, Inc. is a multi-discipline engineering firm serving clients across the United States and overseas. They are seeking a Mechanical Plumbing Engineer or Designer with a focus on plumbing design for large scale residential projects, emphasizing collaboration within a team environment.

Responsibilities
Design plumbing systems for multi-family residential or commercial buildings
Work collaboratively as part of a multi-discipline engineering team
Execute complex project design and mentor other staff
Perform engineering and/or design work with supervision
Produce computer-generated graphs, charts, overlays, and simple isometric drawings from detailed sketches
Design layouts, details, and overall system design for typical, discipline-specific systems
Perform field observations and reports
Assist with project completion with numerous project teams
Analyze sketches, notes, and other input material to determine the best approach for the completion of drawings
Multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Contribute positively to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 3 years of experience designing plumbing systems for multi-family residential or commercial buildings
Familiarity with relevant codes: mechanical, energy, plumbing
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit is required
Capable of performing engineering and/or design work with supervision
Experienced with the latest release of Revit, AutoCAD, BIM 360, and other CAD and BIM tools common to the discipline
Works from detailed sketches to produce computer-generated graphs, charts, overlays, and simple isometric drawings
Capable of designing domestic water calculations and multi-system riser diagrams
Analyze sketches, notes, and other input material to determine the best approach for the completion of drawings
Able to design layouts, details, and overall system design for typical, discipline-specific systems
Able to perform field observations and reports
Able to work with numerous project teams to assist with project completion
Knowledge of codes and design and construction practices
Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Detail oriented, possess a high degree of accuracy
Able to work independently as well as part of a team
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale
Preferred
Los Angeles or California experience
B.A. or B.S. from an accredited college in related field
California EIT Registration
