1+ years expDawn Foods is a global leader in bakery manufacturing and ingredients distribution. They are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician I responsible for performing daily quality activities in the plant to ensure that all products meet specifications and comply with quality standards.

Responsibilities
Monitors, inspects and tests the products in process or in the lab. Ensures the products meet all specifications. Records all information and reports any discrepancies
Monitors and checks the calibration of measuring equipment and the operation of metal detectors to ensure proper operation. Reports any problems immediately
Performs formula audits and process audits, documents audit results
Monitors adherence to all food safety and quality programs, including but not limited to Good Manufacturing Practices and the Food Safety Plan. Reports any problems to the appropriate Lead/Supervisor
Performs environmental swabbing as per the schedule
Perform other duties as assigned by management
Assists in the investigation of out of compliance products
Create a safe work environment by embracing diversity and fostering an inclusive environment where all team members are treated equally and with respect
Must be able to work in an environment where various allergens, including, but not limited to nuts, are received as shipments, mixed in ingredients, used as toppings, or baked into product. This will fluctuate based on business need
Qualification
Required
1 year of experience in supporting plants and assessing the effectiveness of plant quality and food safety programs
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Ability to problem solve in variable situations
Must be able to work well with others and independently
Knowledge of basic lab equipment such as water activity, viscometers, etc
Basic math, record keeping and computer skills
Preferred
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Science or related background or lab experience preferred
