Responsibilities

Assist the Sr. Manager with scheduling, prioritizing service requests, and managing MRU operations
Act as interim manager when needed; ensure work orders and field reports are accurate and timely
Oversee material shipment to domestic and international sites; develop metrics to reduce downtime
Lead and perform advanced mechanical and electrical repairs on locomotives (EMD engines, brake systems, compressors, turbos, etc.)
Supervise crews and conduct inspections to meet regulatory and customer standards
Safely operate repair tools and read blueprints and schematics
Mentor technicians; foster a respectful, inclusive culture
Support SQDC practices for continuous improvement and root-cause problem-solving
Maintain certifications and ensure regulatory and customer site requirements are met
Build strong internal and external relationships to align MRU operations with business goals
Assist with vehicle and facility upkeep, inventory, and general maintenance as needed

Required

Strong hands-on experience with locomotive repairs
Supervisory background in technical or industrial settings
Knowledge of FRA, DOT regulations, and safety protocols

Certifications (TWIC, MSHA, ISNET) preferred or attainable
