Responsibilities

Own and maintain compliance documentation, policies, and procedures, ensuring they remain current with evolving global regulations, standards, and industry best practices
Lead product compliance activities, including RSL testing programs, labeling and packaging reviews, and verification of regulatory conformity throughout the product lifecycle
Ensure compliance with global product standards and regulations, such as CPSC, CE, ISO, REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, and other applicable requirements
Manage and further develop social compliance programs, including coordinating supplier audits, overseeing corrective action plans, and supporting implementation of social compliance policies across the supply chain
Collect, validate, analyze, and manage complex datasets required for ESG, sustainability, and extended producer responsibility (EPR) reporting obligations
Collaborate cross-functionally to gather information, establish data ownership, improve data accuracy, and resolve compliance-related or reporting issues
Monitor and interpret emerging regulations and industry trends, providing actionable guidance to support compliance strategies and reporting requirements
Prepare, review, and deliver accurate, audit-ready compliance reports for internal stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and external partners
Provide project leadership and operational support to the Director of Quality and the broader compliance team, contributing to departmental initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

Required

Minimum 4 years in a compliance, legal, regulatory, sustainability, or equivalent role
Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational acumen, and ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
Advanced research, communication, writing, critical thinking, and risk assessment skills, including the ability to translate regulatory requirements into actionable guidance
Strong project management, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to lead compliance initiatives and ensure timely fulfillment of regulatory obligations
Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and escalate compliance or regulatory issues appropriately
Familiarity with hard goods, soft goods, and apparel products and materials, including relevant manufacturing processes, testing protocols, and certification pathways
In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, restricted substance regulations (RoHS, REACH), corporate social responsibility standards, and ESG reporting frameworks
Strong understanding of global sustainability trends, regulatory developments, and industry best practices in product and social compliance
Flexibility to participate in occasional off-hours meetings with global teams, suppliers, and regulatory partners
Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on evolving compliance, regulatory, and ESG standards

Preferred

Bachelor's degree
Experience in a regulated industry (PPE, automotive, aerospace, medical device, or consumer goods)
Demonstrable experience with managing/leading teams in a dynamic environment
Experience interpreting and applying complex regulatory or legal frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO, CPSC, RoHS, CSRD, PPWR)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with document control systems, compliance management tools, and material library databases preferred
Interest or experience in climbing, mountaineering, or skiing is a plus
